Due to ongoing network updates, the Winlink connections are changing. The new configurations are posted below for your convenience. Check here again next time before using the connections that worked last week as they may have changed.
Telnet Winlink connections can be used when Internet service is available; however, configure and test the RF scripts before the next major incident.
Packet: South County is supported by a Winlink RMS Gateway and two packet network nodes.
In Nipomo we have the two-port network node, call sign W6SLO-8 (alias NIPOMO). Port 1 is on 145.050, 1200 baud packet, and port 2 is on 446.950, 9600 baud packet. Use this node to connect to other local stations on port 1, or to connect to stations, nodes and gateways elsewhere in the county on port 2.
In Arroyo Grande, the RMS Gateway, W6WJ-10, provides Winlink Gateway service on 145.050, 1200 baud packet. There is also a network node collocated with the gateway, using call sign W6WJ-1. This node can be used for local connections in south county, but not other areas in the county. Configure these stations and test them. Winlink Packet P2P connections through the nodes can be used during exercises and actual events.
Winlink RMS Gateway connections can be made through the NIPOMO node (145.05 MHz) using a connection script. For example, to connect to the Cal Poly gateway, use the following script:
C NIPOMO
CONN
C SIMEON
CONN
C 2 W6BHZ-10
CONN
Winlink RMS Gateway connections can also be made to the W6WJ-10 gateway (145.05 MHz) at Rancho Grande Park in Arroyo Grande, using a Direct Connection, or through the NIPOMO node using the following script:
C NIPOMO
CONN
C 1 W6WJ-10
CONN
Winlink P2P connections to other stations can be made via the NIPOMO node
(145.05 MHz) using a P2P Script. For example, to connect in P2P to NS7C, use this script:
C NIPOMO
CONN
C SIMEON
CONN
C 1 NS7C
CONN
VARA FM: An early deployment VARA FM capability appeared on Cuesta Peak to add data to the existing voice repeater. More configuration and testing will be required, but for now it is operational for VARA FM. Both P2P and Gateway connections are possible, no connection scripts are needed. At this time, only the NS7C-10 gateway is available using the repeater.
442.700 MHz (+5 MHz) // 25 KHz bandwidth
PL 131.8 for VARA FM (or PL 127.3 for voice repeater function)
For Winlink RMS Gateway, select NS7C-10 in the VARA FM Channel Selector
